I would go to work and finish my job to my fullest extent
Then after work I would go to the casino with my friends.
That is where I truly belonged.
The lights illuminating the casino that would amaze anyone.
The chain and clang of the coins dropping from jackpots would excite anyone
The gambling at table would send a chill through your spine as you waited for your luck wondering if
you would win it all or lose it all
I put my money on the line everyday leaving it all to chance
Would I go home with profit or would I have to settle for debt?
One day however my boss bob would come up to me and told me I got a pay cut
As it was I was barely meeting getting by with life with house payments and fun
I spent the next few months without going to casino or seeing my friends
Day after day I sat in my house as the hours chipped away like old paint
Was this fate or chance that I had to go through this, what did I do wrong with my life?
I cut back on food and clothing for myself as I tried to keep up with payments
Then my boss called me in to his office yet again
I didn’t know what was wrong but was dreading another pay cut
If that happened my life would be at an end
However it was not another pay cut that awaited me more like a glimmer of hope
I was to do a project for the company that could make it well known
Tirelessly I let the hours go by working on this project
Hours turned to minutes and seconds turned to instants
Finally the project was complete and the company became well known
My pay didn’t go back to normal, I got a bit of a raise
My life returned to normal and I saw my friends again
We laughed and gambled at the casino, we had a great time
Was it fate or chance that made my life a rollercoaster?
I don’t believe in fate so it had to be chance.
You get chances in life and you have to take full advantage of them when they come
One things for sure though, this is where I truly belong.
