Summer flew by and things changed
Sarah was young and estranged
From all the ones she thought would remain unchanged.
Sara thought things would stay the same
She saw all her friends taking aim at her weight
So she sauntered away in shame.
She cried and thought “What happened to our friendship?”
They acted like it was a thread they could snip.
Weeks, weeks, and weeks passed and things were no different to her dismay.
High school was the predator and she’s the prey.
She tried to remain herself but she was just so scared.
All anyone did was stare, at least they could have pretend they cared
The torment just got worse with every consecutive day
No one knew or paid enough attention to the fact that she never ate anyway.
When she looked in the mirror she barely recognized her face, all she saw was disgrace.
You may have thought that it was the people in school that she despised
But in her mind it was the reflection in the mirror that needed to be revised.
Then one day POOF,
She realized she was good the way she was
The mirror spoke and said
She was perfect all by herself.
It was faith for her to go through the pain
After all, if she had not she would have had nothing to gain
And no way to help others deal with the same pain.
Years past and she grew up to be the best at what she knew very well,
During one of her sessions with her patients she said,
“After all is said and done beauty is not only skin deep girls,
Each and every one of you are gorgeous, inside and out, just like pearls.”
