Once upon a time in a village far away,
The young girl Elizabeth, handled situations in a different but positive way.
She was fearless, humorous, strong and caring.
And she had flawless hair that was long dark and worth staring.
She wanders around with gypsy eyes, seeing the world from a brighter side.
Walking through the village, she noticed a girl.
She was dressed in rags but as pretty as a pearl.
Cindy said her family was not as whole.
With her mother dead and her father’s wife does nothing but scold.
The stepsisters are cruel with a jealous reflection in their eyes.
But the stunning young woman does not let them witness her cries.
Elizabeth tells her, “Stand your ground, and meet your white knight”.
The sobbing girl says “If I go, I will not see tomorrow’s dancing light.”
Elizabeth says to her “Shed your rags, but be prepared,
Their jealousy could be too much for them to bare.”
Cindy looked up with a smile and hope in her eyes,
As she watched the mysterious woman wandered off into the sparkling sunrise.
Continuing though the town, Elizabeth sees laughter,
And smells the blooming trees and flowers.
She thought the village was happy, hopeful, and harmonious as she walked into the dress shop.
But at her fifth step, she heard “SLAM! POP!”
Curiously, Elizabeth wandered over to the dressing room door.
She heard someone weeping close to the floor.
“Are you alright?” she asked with concern in her voice.
There was no reply or even a whimpering noise.
Right when Elizabeth turned to walk away,
The young girl said from the other said of the door, “Why must I look this way?”
The door creaked open and Elizabeth saw,
Adrianna dressed in silk and cloth.
The dress was white laced with silver-blue beading,
That matched her eyes as her tears were streaming.
Her long red hair glowed, and her full curls twisted and bounced,
But there was something she was insecure about.
She was frigid with her legs and could not stand them to show.
Elizabeth looked puzzled, how could anyone not see that
Adrianna’s features were so unique?
Her smooth ivory skin and eyes the color of the deep blue sea
Would render anyone unable to speak.
When Adrianna began to whimper again,
Elizabeth replied, “Find the beauty you were gifted within
Don’t worry what was said then.”
“When you have confidence from the outside in
No one will ever be able to doubt you again.”
Adrianna argued back, “But how could I forget?
It hurts now even more then it did then!”
“If you look at yourself, you stand with grace,
With that beautiful smile upon your face.
No awkwardness or clumsiness, which can be seen
You are not the same as you use to be.”
Adrianna looked again and to her surprise,
She saw herself from another side.
She looked up with a smile and hope in her eyes,
The woman had disappeared from out of her sight.
Elizabeth went on her way,
Feeling optimistic about the two girls’ lives she touched this day.
While passing through the green lawns of grass,
She heard something along a path.
As she peeked down the way,
A couple did stand, in an uncommon way.
She then did notice,
The young woman standing before a man,
Who looked with sadness and confusion about their situation at hand.
As the man had walked away,
The crying young girl began to say,
“Why did you do this? How could this be?
I gave you my soul, and you have lied to me!
You spoke of true love, and now you speak of lies!
You are just a snake in disguise.”
As Elizabeth witnessed this very sad scene,
She felt sadness for this girl with broken dreams.
Before Elizabeth could decide whether to leave or stay,
Morgan says “What brings you this way?”
Elizabeth tells her “Do not be afraid,
I am a friend here for you if you wish me to stay.”
“Have not you heard what was said about me?
Are you afraid to be a friend to me?
Such lies he has told and they all believe,
All the awful things he has said about me!”
Elizabeth replied “I do not believe all that I hear,
I listen with heart, not with my ears.
Do not worry about what was said,
You know in your heart you have nothing to dread.
Your loving heart that was tossed away,
Will come back to haunt him on his judgment day.
This beautiful heart that you possess,
Is full of love, grace, and happiness.
Do not let them judge you,
For you know you are true,
What will not kill you will make a stronger, better you.”
Morgan looked up with a smile and hope in her eyes,
Starring into the starlit sky,
As she looked over, Elizabeth disappeared.
But her voice in the distance said, “You have nothing to fear.”
Her fate was to have gypsy’s eyes and an angel’s heart,
And to fly up to heaven with her next phase to start.
