Mistake

Everyone in life makes mistakes
Some are small while others are great
One night in Denver fate takes place
In an unfortunate place because of one mistake

Tyler Hazelwood learned of his mistake the hard way
Full of sorrow and agonizing pain

He was 17 a senior in high school
And was at the prime of his life
Going to parties every weekend night
Time after time he would call for a ride
To avoid any major disaster

On June 15 it was graduation night everyone was excited
The biggest party of the year was coming tonight
And that’s were Tyler makes his mistake on this fateful night

When he arrived he did the norm; he walked and he talked
He had fun and chilled all excited, life full of thrill
Drink after drink he one after the other he consumed the alcohol
The more he drank the closer he dug himself into a whole he could not climb out of

At 3:15 the party ended lots of people tired and their night ended
Tyler took his keys figuring he would be alright
Unaware of what fate had in store for him that night
He made it to his care
Tripped a few time but got in safely unscarred
Keys in ignition
Foot on brake
Put his care in reverse, and backed out
Within 2 second of switching gears he was racing off in a frantic pace

Down the road he drove swerving from lane to lane
In a nearby intersection he saw a light
Little did he know he was too late
In the blink of an eye fate took place
At 9:23 am Tyler Hazelwood was found dead
That night Tyler had made a mistake
One common in youth one that most people will make
But he is gone now all because he had made one….Mistake
