Moonlight

Beside the red blossom tree,
Bloomed to perfection,
Stands the love of her life.
Standing in the moonlight,
Where they first met,
That bittersweet night,
Was all they had left.
She cannot hold him.
She cannot touch him.
For he fell into the void,
Never to return.
For he is just a mirage.
An image in her imagination.

He showed his love burning in the night,
Until that fateful night,
When she thought that by chance they met eyes,
But he was telling her lies
The things that he thought,
Was that he wanted her heart,
So that he could take it for himself.
But the dragon rose up and stole his life,
Now he can roam no more.
So he sits there in the dark,
Waiting for someone to love him.
And he does not know that she loves him.

She walks along the path,
Deciding what he was thinking,
Wondering if he ever thought of her kindly.
What we never had is what she would love,
But the fight is not worth the pain.
She wishes that he could give her that chance,
To trade each other’s heart,
So that the beach could be theirs for that night.
For she would walk all night, and talk all night,
And try to forget her pain.

She finds that it will never happen,
She knows that she has suffered enough
So she goes to the dragon,
And begs for his forgiveness,
But he does not comply.
The one request he has,
Is to prove that she loves him,
By going to the end of the Earth,
To find the meaning of love.
There he will return him to her,
Only if he will love her back.

Once she reached her destination,
The dragon appeared to her.
She told him of her findings,
And what she had to learn.
She told him she was ready to be judged,
And her love appeared in front of her.
He said, “I love you.
You have freed me of my loss,
And I know now what the meaning of love is.”
Her pulled out a white tulip, and set it in her ear,
And she knew this is what she wanted by the thud thud thud of her heart.

The dragon was kind,
And married them on the spot,
While standing there in the moonlight.
But what she could not figure out,
Is how this had happen.
The dragon was like a mentor,
Who taught her what love is.
Her love was as a puppy,
New and giddy and joyful.
But when she woke from her sleep that night,
She noticed him not
There…
For he was just a dream,
Just an image of her imagination.
